Aloha!
I want to tell you about a Wai'anae resident named Tammy, who inspired me to write this. Tammy's story speaks to why electing Tulsi means we are sending a strong leader to Congress who will make a positive impact for all people of Hawai'i.Tulsi's fresh perspective, strong leadership, and unwavering commitment to service will enable her to get things done for Hawai'i.
Tulsi and Tammy Strickland at the Obama Ohana Rally
I met Tammy Strickland at a fundraiser for Tulsi. Tammy's a pretty impressive woman herself, who served as a medic in the Hawai'i National Guard; she and Tulsi were roommates in Iraq. Tammy told me that she and her husband have been saving money to buy a new stove for quite some time. But, since she believes so strongly in Tulsi and her ability to get the job done for us in Congress, Tammy decided to dip into her stove fund and donate a whopping $500 to our campaign!
Every little bit goes a long way. We all know that winning this campaign is going to be a hard battle, but we also know that if we give it our all, if we dig deep like Tammy, we can and will win. And winning this election will send a leader to Congress who will represent everyone in Hawai`i's 2nd Congressional District; a leader who will bring people together; a leader who will stand up for women like Tammy; a leader who will bring that fresh energy and perspective we so desperately need to Washington to find real solutions for our toughest challenges.
I sincerely hope you feel as inspired as I do by Tammy's story and will consider giving what you can afford. Donate now!
Mahalo!
