I just wanted to take a brief moment to wish you and your loved ones a safe, joyous and happy holiday season.

For all of us, this is a time of year to be surrounded by family and friends. Many times, we take this for granted.

However, there are those who don't: our men and women in uniform, spending this holiday away from their families while serving our country in distant lands. To you, we are extremely thankful and wish you a safe and quick return home. To those who will never come home, having paid the ultimate price, we owe our deepest gratitude, and commitment to always honor your life and sacrifice.

I am so pleased to welcome back all of the troops coming home from Iraq, who are now able to spend the holidays in the warm embrace of their loved ones.
